Membership

membershipMembership is a formal commitment to the local congregation. It is a covenantal relationship whereby the congregation vows to uphold one another in a community of love and forgiveness, as they encourage growth in service and discipleship. The individual member then vows to participate in the church with prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.

One may become a member of the congregation by transferring membership from another congregation, or by taking new member classes. For youth, those classes take the form of confirmation classes, overseen by our youth pastor. For adults, those classes are led by our senior pastor.

Certain offices within the organizational structure of the congregation can only be held by members. Also, one must be a member of the congregation to vote on any official business of the church, especially at the annual Church Conference, normally held in the fall.
